The truth is commitment to exercise is only part of the equation in achieving your fitness goals. Building a foundation of a clean eating is essential to achieving real results in any fitness program. If one of your goals is to change your body composition, exercise will not be enough. Its easy to get sucked in by the many fads in the diet world. At Ramped Revofit the recommendation for achieving the optimal level in body efficiency is through eating a balanced diet.
What do we think is optimal nutrition?
The nutrition approach at Ramped Revofit is simple: Eat meat and vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch and no sugar. That being said the exact quantity of varies for each individual. A good rule of thumb is to keep intake to levels that will support your exercise but not body fat.
The current diet that supports this approach is the Paleo Diet. There are Paleo approaches that range from the very lenient to very strict interpretations. Ultimately it is up to the individual to decide what level pursue.
What about supplements?
Over time, even our best nutrient rich foods have been depleted of their levels of nutrient in comparison to generations past. When you combine that with the more demanding schedules and lifestyle we have today, it is very hard to get adequate intake on regular foods alone.
This does not mean run to your nearest nutrition store and stock up on your favorite designer supplement. In keeping with the approach you still want your supplements to come all natural foods. That mean gluten free and non-GMO supplements. Very few supplements are all natural and even fewer of the one claiming to be let the consumer truly know what is in their products.
